2019 Buenos Aires thresholds

Thanks to a willing landlord, this work, on an 1950’s residential building in the process of renovation, is a remake of my 2018 experiment with the Hong Kong University.

Multiple doors, where only one was planned, not only suggest multiple opportunities, but, somewhat unexpectedly, actually offered real possibilities to rethink and redistribute interior spaces.
Guess which door is the original one?

2019 Soglie (Buenos Aires)

Grazie alla disponibilità del proprietario, questo intervento, su un edificio residenziale degli anni Cinquanta in corso di ristrutturazione, è una sorta di remake di un mio esperimento del 2018 presso la Hong Kong University.

Una serie di porte identiche, laddove ne era prevista una soltanto, non solo suggeriscono multiple opportunità, ma, in modo abbastanza inatteso, suggeriscono reali possibilità di ripensare e ridistribuire gli spazi interni.
Provate ad immaginare quale fosse l’unica porta prevista in partenza

“…Tutte le porte sono uguali, e dietro ad esse…” Si interrompe.
“Dietro che c’è Isabella?” chiedo.
“Nulla. Sono porte, sempre e soltanto porte, e dietro nulla.”
