2015 Roots and Trees (Milano)

I designed this installation for an international consultancy company particularly sensitive to the well-being of its staff and aims to create a working environment with an emphasis on informal communication and team building.

I’m convinced that, particularly in an era of triumphant technologies, working with natural materials, such as wood, allows to promote a dialogue between natural rhythms and contemporary corporate culture.
Hence the decision to propose a reflection on spirit of the tree, which, whatever its size and age, through the network of its roots, the verticality of its trunk, the intricate web of its branches, expresses such a strong sense of vitality to be a source of endless inspiration.

I used roots, trunks and branches salvaged from dead trees that had been uprooted by storms or cut down for being sick. I reassembled the loose limbs into forms that would fit into their new environment, thus creating an itinerary of sculptural presences that convey the trees intrinsic presence and strength.

2019 Radici e alberi

Realizzata per una società di consulenza particolarmente sensibile al benessere dei suoi collaboratori, questa installazione caratterizza degli ambienti che favoriscono la comunicazione informale, anche attraverso il consumo conviviale del cibo.

Particolarmente in un un’epoca di tecnologie trionfanti, lavorare con materiali naturali, quali il legno, consente di riscoprire un dialogo tra i ritmi della Natura e la Cultura. Da qui la scelta di una riflessione sull’albero, che, qualunque sia la sua dimensione, attraverso il reticolo delle radici, la verticalità del tronco, l’ossatura dei rami, esprime presenza e forza, ed offre spunti infiniti alla creazione artistica.

Ho recuperato dei tronchi e dei rami alberi malati, destinati ad essere abbattuti, oppure sradicati da un fortunale. Utilizzando quindi come punto di partenza componenti vegetali autentiche, la scultura diventa, attraverso un diverso assemblaggio delle parti, la reinterpretazione di un’esigenza vitale.
