2020 Tears in Paris 2

Pirandello in “The late Mattia Pascal” tells the story of a puppet engaged in a play, who notices a tear in the paper sky that is the background to his theater.
The puppet “remains terribly disconcerted by that hole in the sky”: the reality in which he believed does not exist and all his certainties are questioned.

For us, the “tear in the paper sky” is an unexpected situation that pushes us to look beyond the horizons to which we had become accustomed.

The tear makes the billboard advertising lose any claim to tell a realistic story and opens a window towards unusual forms and compositions.

2020 Strappi a Parigi 2

Questo lavoro è una fluida evoluzione di quanto ideato nel 2018 nella Metro di Parigi.

Pirandello nel “Il fu Mattia Pascal” narra di una marionetta impegnata in una recita, che si accorge di uno strappo nel cielo di carta che fa da sfondo al suo teatrino.
La marionetta “rimane terribilmente sconcertata da quel buco nel cielo”: la realtà in cui credeva non esiste e tutte le sue certezze vengono messe in questione.

Per noi lo “strappo nel cielo di carta” è una situazione imprevista che ci spinge a guardare oltre agli orizzonti a cui ci eravamo assuefatti.

Lo strappo fa perdere all’affissione pubblicitaria ogni pretesa di raccontare una storia realistica e apre una finestra verso forme e composizioni inusuete.
